Alhamdulillah, 3 Acehnese Fishermen Who Drowned On Pig Island After The Ship Hit The Reef Survived
JAKARTA - Three fishermen from Meulaboh, West Aceh Regency, drowned on Sunday morning in the Pig Island area, Simeulue Regency, Aceh Province. The three fishermen are reported to be safe.
"Alhamdulillah, the information we received is that three fishermen (one boat captain) survived this disaster," said Secretary of the West Aceh Panglima Laot Nanda Ferdiansyah in Meulaboh, Sunday, quoted by Antara.
Based on information, the boat they were using to catch fish hit a reef, causing the ship to leak and soon sink.
There are also the identities of the three fishermen who experienced the disaster, including Ruslan Efendi, Iwan and another crew member.
In order to assist the evacuation process, Panglima Laot Aceh Barat has also coordinated with the Panglima Laut Simeulue Regency, Basarnas, and related parties in the hope that the three fishermen can be evacuated immediately.
Meanwhile, the Coordinator of Basarnas Pos Meulaboh, West Aceh, Budi Darmawan, who was confirmed on Sunday morning, confirmed the incident.
"We have coordinated this incident with the Basarnas on Simeulue Island, Aceh, for further handling," said Budi Darmawan.
