Soaring, COVID-19 Patients At The Athletes' House Increase 1,066 Today

JAKARTA - The Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital (RSD) has a significant increase in COVID-19 patients today. The number of patients being treated has started to increase since the second DKI PSBB was implemented.

Head of Information for the Joint Defense Region I Command (Kogabwilhan I) Colonel Marines Aris Mudian said that currently there are 1,066 COVID-19 patients being treated at the Wisma Atlet Hospital.

Usually, the number of daily patients does not reach 100 people. The number of patients started increasing since Wednesday morning, which has added 112 patients in one day. Then, there are more patients today.

"Initially, there were 1,691 inpatients at the Wisma Atlet Hospital, today there are 1,066 hospitalized patients to 2,757 people," said Aris in his statement, Thursday, September 17.

All the additional patients per day are positive cases of COVID-19. There are no more suspected patients who are still being treated at RSD Wisma Atlet.

"Of all the patients treated at the Wisma Atlet Hospital, 1,334 of them were men and 1,423 women," he said.

Meanwhile, since March 23 until today at 08.00 WIB, 16,626 patients have been treated at RSD Wisma Atlet. Meanwhile, 13,753 patients have been discharged.

"In detail, there were 283 patients who were referred to other hospitals, 13,417 patients recovered, and 6 patients died," said Aris.

For information, the category of patients treated at Wisma Atlet Hospital are patients with mild symptoms and no symptoms.

Meanwhile, moderate and severe symptoms of COVID-19 are treated at a COVID-19 referral hospital. This is because these patients need a breathing apparatus (ventilator) and more intensive care.
