Preview League 1: Bali United Optimistic To Beat Persija In Match In Denpasar, Sunday 6 March

JAKARTA - Bali United centre-back Willian Pacheco considers the match against Persija in Denpasar, Sunday (6/3) as one of the final matches towards the 2021/22 Indonesian League 1 title.

"Tomorrow's match is like a final and the players are very excited to welcome it," Pacheco said in a virtual press conference before the match in Jakarta, Saturday as quoted by Antara.

The enthusiasm for the match, the 29-year-old footballer continued, arises because Bali United are now in a leading position in the race for the status of Liga 1 champions where they lead the standings with a collection of 60 points from 28 matches.

This means that if they are able to reap three points from every six remaining "final" matches, including versus Persija, the Tridatu Sergeant is certain to become the champion of Liga 1 this season.

"That's what makes the motivation high to win over Persija. If we can win all the remaining games, we can come out as champions of League 1," said Pacheco.

Bali United will face Persija on Sunday (6/3) at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Denpasar, Bali, starting at 20.45 WIB.

Ilija Spasojevic and friends welcome the match with a good record in their last 11 matches, where they recorded 10 wins and one draw.

While Persija only won one win, three draws and two defeats in their last six matches. In fact, since 2019, Persija have always lost to Bali United in the Indonesian League 1. In total, from 20 meetings, Bali United won nine times over Persija who were only able to lead five times.
