429 Health Workers In Kulon Progo Affected By COVID-19

KULON PROGO - A total of 429 health workers who work in health centers and hospitals in Kulon Progo Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region have been infected with COVID-19.

According to the spokesperson for the Kulon Progo COVID-19 Task Force, Baning Rahayujati, as many as 264 people out of a total of 429 health workers infected with the SARS-CoV-2 type of corona virus underwent self-isolation.

He said the transmission of COVID-19 that occurred to doctors, nurses, midwives, dental nurses, and other health care support personnel did not result in the closure of health facilities.

"Until now, there have been no closures of hospitals and health centers," Baning said, quoted by Antara, March 5.

However, Baning said, inpatient service facilities at the Girimulyo II Health Center, Temon I Health Center, and Galur I Health Center were temporarily closed.

In addition, according to him, delivery services are temporarily not provided at the Panjatan II Health Center and maternity hospitals where many health workers have been infected with COVID-19.

"Other services will continue as usual," he said.

According to Baning, most of the health workers who contracted COVID-19 contracted the virus while in the neighborhood.

"We ensure that health workers who have confirmed COVID-19 are not (infected) from patients, but from home. At work, (people who) are confirmed to transmit the infection to their co-workers when they rest or eat together," he said.
