B30 Solar Prime Distribution, Conducted In Balongan

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) has distributed fuel with a mixture of 30 percent palm oil or the first B30 this year. Meanwhile, the distribution is carried out at the Integrated Terminal Balongan.

Pertamina said that the initial distribution was sent by a tank car with a capacity of 8 kiloliters (KL) to SPBU 3445151 on Jalan Gunung Jati, Cirebon, West Java, on Wednesday January 1.

"Integrated Terminal Balongan obtains diesel supplies from the Pertamina Balongan Refinery (Refinery Unit VI). Where then the mixing of FAME and diesel is carried out in the New Gantry System (NGS) using the Inline Blending method," said the Unit Manager for Communication Relations & CSR Pertamina Marketing Operation Region ( MOR) III Dewi Sri Utami in a written statement, quoted on Saturday 4 January.

As is known, the government set the composition of fatty acid methyl ether (FAME) from B20 to B30, which means that the 20% FAME content in diesel-based fuels increases to 30%.

According to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 227 of 2019, the B30 policy in the transportation sector applies to subsidized diesel products, namely Biosolar, as well as non-subsidized Dexlite.

Dewi said that the FAME content did not have a negative impact on consumer vehicle engines. In addition, changes in fuel configuration have been socialized by the government and related business entities to vehicle manufacturers, Brand Holder Sole Agents, and various vehicle associations.

"Users of diesel vehicles can use B30 fuel comfortably. With B30 components, engine traction is maintained, fuel is also of good quality and is environmentally friendly, and also contributes to maintaining the country's foreign exchange," he said.

Dewi said, Integrated Terminal Balongan then distributed Biosolar B30 to several gas stations in Cirebon, Indramayu, Majalengka and Kuningan areas.

In addition to supplying Biosolar B30, Dewi said that her company has also provided a high-tech lubricant, Meditran SX BIO SAE 15W-40, which can improve the performance of diesel engines using B30 fuel. According to him, Meditran SX as a special lubricant for diesel-engined vehicles can support the use of B30 to B50 vegetable components.
