Suarez Threatened To Cancel To Juventus Because Of The Length Of The Process Of Moving Citizenship
JAKARTA - Suarez's move to Juventus is in danger of being canceled because of the lengthy process of obtaining Italian citizenship. This can force Juventus to look for alternative attackers.
After taking over from Quique Setien in August, Ronald Koeman decided that Suarez was not part of his plans. He is most likely to be sold in the transfer market this summer.
A number of clubs are already interested in securing the services of the 33-year-old striker, including his former club Ajax and Italian champions Juventus.
Juventus became the strongest candidate to get Suarez after they agreed a three-year contract agreement worth 10 million euros (around Rp. 175 billion). However, it also threatened to be canceled.
Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman insists that Luis Suarez will not be frozen from the squad if he remains at the Spanish club.
Speaking after Barcelona's 3-1 friendly win against Girona on Thursday, September 17, Koeman said he would plan to play Suarez in the 2020-21 season if his transfer to another club fails to materialize.
"Suarez will be one more (member of the squad) if he stays," the Barcelona coach told TV3 as quoted by Antara on Thursday.
"I spoke with Luis this morning. We will wait to see if there is a way out or not. We respect the contract and, from day one, we have said that if he stays in the squad, he will be part of the squad. "
