Hoping To Get A Chance To Try The Mandalika Circuit, Doni Tata: It's 'itchy' To Want To Gas Again

JAKARTA – Former Moto2 racer from Indonesia, Doni Tata Pradita, does not deny the uniqueness of the Mandalika Circuit. He also hopes to get a chance to try out the track.

The Sleman racer has seen the Indonesian pride circuit firsthand. He got this experience when he attended the World Supersport (WSSP) event on 19-21 November 2021.

"Hopefully I get the chance to try out the circuit. After a vacuum of racing, now we have an international circuit. It feels 'itchy' to want to gas again to try the Mandalika Circuit,” said Doni while talking to the Hub Team on Friday, March 4, in a statement received.

In terms of layout, Mandalika is considered attractive compared to many circuits in Europe. Another plus of the circuit along the 4.31 km and has 17 turns is that it is located on the coast with a very beautiful natural landscape.

Doni hopes that the return of MotoGP to Indonesia after 25 years of vacuum can bring blessings to this nation. He wants the existence of this circuit to ignite the enthusiasm of young Indonesian racers to continue to excel.

"We already have the Mandalika Circuit and MotoGP is back in Indonesia. Of course, I hope that many potential Indonesian racers will be born and excel at the international level,” said Doni.

Mandalika is currently in the process of being re-asphalted according to recommendations from Dorna Sport and the International Motorcycle Federation (FIM). The recommendation is based on the evaluation results of the February 11-13 pre-season test.

The target for re-paving is completed on the nearest March 10 or ten days before the race is held on March 18-20. Mandalika is the second series of the season after the Qatar Grand Prix which finishes on March 6.

Doni confirmed that he would watch the race at Mandalik live this month. He also invited the public to participate in enlivening the most prestigious motorcycle racing event.

"Let's support and make the MotoGP at Mandalika a success so that it can be well organized, maintain the good name of Indonesia, and provide full support for the success of MotoGP in Indonesia," Doni added.

Doni, who is currently 32 years old, is one of Indonesia's racing talents. The man who was born on January 21, 1990 has been poor across the world of motorcycle racing.

He was the first Red and White racer to compete in the 250cc Motorcycle Grand Prix racing event in 2008 with the Yamaha Pertamina Indonesia team. He is also the only Indonesian racer to score points in that class.
