Oplosan Alcohol That Killed 9 People In Jepara Contains Methanol And Ethanol
JEPARA - The Jepara Police, Central Java, stated that the laboratory test results of a sample of mixed liquor that killed nine people contained methanol and ethanol, which are dangerous for human consumption.
"Based on the results of the Forensic Laboratory (Labfor) of the Semarang Branch of the National Police, it contains methanol and ethanol," said Jepara Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Muhammad Fachrur Rozi during a trial at the Jepara Police Headquarters, quoted by Antara, Friday, March 4.
Of the 15 samples tested in the laboratory, he said, 13 of them contained ethanol and methanol. While the other two samples are soft drinks or soft drinks and food flavours.
Fachrur noted that several cases of methanol have resulted in fatalities. Meanwhile, according to some experts, ethanol has never been a case of death.
