RIAU - Head of the Riau Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), M. Edy Afrizal, again reminded residents to increase their vigilance because extreme weather conditions are hitting a number of areas. This weather also triggers landslides and floods.
"In addition to the flood that occurred in Inhu and the landslide in Inhil, a number of areas in Riau were also hit by a tornado. As happened in Pekanbaru, Thursday morning yesterday, which caused a number of roofs and domes of mosques to fly away by the wind," said Edy Afrizal to reporters. in Pekanbaru, Antara, Friday, March 4.
He said that hurricanes are unpredictable, because they are influenced by weather conditions. For this reason, his party asked the BPBD personnel for the City District in Riau to be ready so that if at any time a disaster occurred in their area, each officer could be immediately dispatched to the location to help residents affected by natural disasters.
"We from the province are ready to help if it is no longer handled by our friends in the district and city, because if we rely on the province, everything can't be handled, because the area is large, but for logistical assistance there is no problem, because we have prepare in the district / city," he said.
In addition, his party reminded the public, especially those living in areas prone to landslides and floods as well as whirlwinds, to increase their vigilance. Because in the midst of the current uncertain weather, natural disasters can occur at any time.
