Landslide Makes Part Of The Semarang-Solo Toll Road At KM 436 'Disappear'

JAKARTA - Rain that flushed a number of areas in Semarang Regency, Central Java, on Friday afternoon, caused landslides. As a result, part of the Semarang-Solo toll road has been piled up at KM 436+600.

Head of Traffic at the Semarang Police, AKP Rendy Johan Prasetyo, said that the avalanche material covered part of the road on the toll road from Semarang to Solo. The police have coordinated with PT Trans Marga Central Java and BPBD Semarang Regency to immediately handle the incident.

"The flow of vehicles is directed to pass in the far right lane," said AKP Rendy as quoted by Antara, Friday, March 4.

He added that the process of clearing the road from landslides was carried out by BPBD officers assisted by firefighters.

Meanwhile, a spokeswoman for PT Trans Marga Central Java, Dian Saputra, added that there had been a traffic jam of about 200 meters due to the incident.

"The delay was not too long, the traffic flow was smooth again," he said.

He appealed to toll road users to always be careful and always obey traffic signs, especially when driving in rainy conditions.
