Spotify Criticizes Apple One's All-in-One Service
JAKARTA - Apple's annual event is still hotly discussed by the public. Moreover, Apple introduced a bundling of its newest product which contains the Apple One subscription package.
But unfortunately this all-in-one package from Apple doesn't seem to be favored by the Spotify music platform. Because Apple is said to be taking advantage of its dominance and harming competitors because it prioritizes its own services.
Apple One itself is an all-in-one package that includes several Apple services with subscription prices starting at $ 14.95 per month. The plan consists of a subscription fee for Apple TV, Apple Arcade, 50GB of iCloud storage, and Apple Music.
"We ask competition authorities to act immediately to limit Apple's anti-competitive behavior, which, if left unchecked, will cause irreparable harm to the developer community and threaten our collective freedom to listen, learn, create and connect," Spotify said via his official statement, as quoted in The Verge, Wednesday, September 16.
The green logo platform says Apple is abusing its dominant market position to support its own Apple Music app. According to Spotify, this is a potential threat to him, which also operates a music app on iOS.
"Again, Apple is using its dominant position and unfair practices to harm competitors and rob consumers of prioritizing its own services," Spotify said.
In a statement, Apple said the bundle was intended for existing users of its services and that customers could find and enjoy alternatives to any of Apple's services, not just using third-party services. It all depends on the choice of the customer.
Previously, Spotify had been disappointed with Apple regarding an additional fee of 30 percent for each application in the App Store. Spotifiy had brought this matter to the European Union Commission over Apple's actions to monopolize the business.
