Good News From Studio Ghibli, Which Will Release 2 New Movies
JAKARTA - Japanese film animation company, Studio Ghibli, confirmed that it is working on two new films. This announcement was made via a New Year message uploaded on their website.
By posting a picture of a mouse by the founder of Ghibli, Hayao Miyazaki, as a symbol of the zodiac for 2020 they also announced the first theme park in Nagakute in 2022. In addition, there is also confirmation regarding Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind being adapted into a kabuki musical.
However, the news that most fans are excited about is the upcoming film Kimi-tachi wa Dō Ikiru ka (How Do You Live?). Adapted from the novel of the same name published in 1937 by Genzaburō Yoshino, this fantasy feature will be directed by Miyazaki, who decided to retire in 2016.
Last October, Toshio Suzuki as the producer of Studio Ghibli had stated that the process of working on Kimi-tachi wa Dō Ikiru ka (How Do You Live?) Was 15 percent after three and a half years of production. Miyazaki also directs one minute of animation every month without a deadline so they can't be sure when the film will be released.

The film, which tells the story of human life, will initially be released this year at the Summer Olympics in Tokyo. However, Miyazaki's perfectionist concept also deserves respect, so its official release has yet to wait.
In his official remarks, Studio Ghibli wrote "Disasters such as typhoons and torrential rain in Japan continue, and it hurts to think that there are many people who are forced to have difficult lives even now."
"We sincerely congratulate those affected by the damage and hope to rebuild their lives soon."
Although this new film will be released sometime between 2021 and 2022, Studio Ghibli is certain that all of their films will be available on the over the top (OTT) streaming service starting next April. Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, and When Marnie Was There which was released in 2014 are some of them.
