23 Pregnant Women Registered As West Pasaman Earthquake Refugees, Health Office Builds Command Post To Prepare Milk, Vitamins And Clothing

PASAMAN BARAT - As many as 23 pregnant women were registered as refugees in the yard of the West Pasaman Regent's Office, West Sumatra (West Sumatra). These pregnant women live with hundreds of other refugees.

Therefore, the West Pasaman Health Office paid special attention to vulnerable groups by establishing a checkpoint for pregnant women.

"This checkpoint was established to monitor the condition of pregnant women in the refugee camps, and provide treatment when there are complaints," said Family Health and Nutrition Staff of the West Pasaman Health Service, Iid Farlina, at Simpang Empat, Antara, Wednesday, March 2.

So far, based on monitoring and data collection on 23 pregnant women in refugee camps, all of them are in good health. "Previously there were 24 people, but this afternoon there was one who was sick and was referred to the hospital," he said.

His party is here to ensure that the basic needs of pregnant women can be met, such as food, milk, clothing, medicines, and vitamins.

"Services for pregnant women are different from general patients, so it must be taken into account," he said.

Pregnant women in refugee camps, he added, are vulnerable to infections and other diseases.

The health service also urges pregnant women in evacuation sites to drink water regularly because of the hot conditions of the emergency tents during the day.

Apart from pregnant women, the postal staff also noted that in the refugee camps in the regent's office, there were 28 babies, 72 toddlers, and two postpartum mothers.

"These three groups are also the attention and target of our service at the checkpoint," he said.

The courtyard of the West Pasaman Regent's office is the main point of refuge for earthquake victims in the local area which is currently inhabited by thousands of residents.
