The National Police Chief Reminds The Police Family To Be Disciplined And Obey The Rules

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo reminded all his staff and the extended family of the National Police to be disciplined and obey the rules that apply at the institution so that it becomes national discipline in accordance with President Joko Widodo's direction.

The National Police Chief stated this when opening the 2022 Police Leadership Meeting (Rapim) at the STIK-PTIK Auditorium Building, South Jakarta.

"This (discipline) needs to be instilled in the individual personality and developed into a habit and brought into a national discipline," said Sigit, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 2.

To improve this discipline, the four-star general asked the ranks to instill the values contained in Tribrata and Catur Prasetya, as well as other binding rules in the police code of ethics and discipline.

This discipline, said Sigit, does not only apply to members of the National Police, but also to the wives and children of members of the National Police.

The National Police Chief reminded the entire Polri family to have different rules and disciplines from civil society so they must obey and comply with these rules.

"That is what distinguishes the TNI/Polri and civil society," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief stated that members of the National Police have different powers from civil society. However, on the other hand, there are freedoms that only exist in civil society, such as freedom of opinion and expression. This is because the politics adopted by the National Police is the politics of the state.

"Regarding national and state policies, the line is that the National Police must support national policies, national programs. This must be understood by the entire Polri family," he said.

If something happens to the Polri extended family, including their children and wife, said the National Police Chief, it will of course be directly related to the position of Polri members, both as members and in organizations.

In addition, Sigit also emphasized what President Jokowi said at the TNI/Polri Meeting at TNI Headquarters, Cilangkap, Jakarta, Tuesday (1/3) regarding the police should support and oversee all government policies.

"Police politics is state politics, so that the line is only one national policy and the state is one breath and the task of the National Police is to support, guard and encourage state or national policies to run," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief emphasized that the doctrine of members of the National Police is obedient, loyal, and loyal to the highest leadership of the state. For that, Sigit asked his staff to always remember and apply this.

"So, there is only the word "ready" and "execute", this is what I remind my colleagues," said Sigit.

The National Police Chief said that public trust in the government is currently increasing. This is certainly a contribution from the ranks of the National Police because public trust in the Government is directly proportional to public trust in the Police.

"This is a provision to carry out their duties properly, especially in years full of uncertainty. Apart from all this, what the Police are doing is for the good of the community, nation and state," said Sigit.

Previously, President Joko Widodo gave directions at the TNI/Polri Meeting at TNI Headquarters Cilangkap, East Jakarta, Tuesday (1/3).

The President emphasized that members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police did not participate in democratic affairs.

The President also said that the ranks of the TNI and Polri must improve national discipline. It was also emphasized that the discipline of the army and police was different from the discipline of civil society.

This discipline, according to President Jokowi, does not only apply to soldiers and members of the National Police, but also to family members at home.
