Central Sulawesi Regional Police Names Bripka H Suspect Of Shooting Demo In Parigi Moutong
JAKARTA - The Central Sulawesi Police have named Bripka H as a suspect in a shooting case that left one person dead. The shooting occurred during security demonstrations in Siney Village, Parigi Moutong Regency.
"Investigators have named Bripka H as a suspect," said Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Rudy Sufahriadi to reporters, Wednesday, March 2.
The determination of the suspect is based on the results of the case title and ballistic test. The result is that the projectile lodged in the victim's body is identical to the pistol belonging to Bripka H, who is a member of the Parigi Moutong Police.
"Inspection of the Forensic Laboratory in Makassar, it was found identical to the child of the bullet in the comparison projectile fired from the organic weapon of the HS9 pistol with serial number H239748 on behalf of the Bripka H holder," said Rudy.
"Similarly, the DNA test results from the blood sample found in the projectile with the victim's blood and the results are identical," he continued.
With the determination of the suspect, Bripka H is charged with Article 359 of the Criminal Code regarding his mistakes and negligence which caused people to die.
"Threatened with 5 years in prison," said Rudy.
For information, the police dispersed the crowd on Saturday, February 12 at midnight because they had blocked the Trans Sulawesi road section in Katulistiwa Village, Tinombo Selatan District, Parigi Moutong Regency from noon.
The crowd demanded that the Central Sulawesi government close a gold mine owned by a private company that has concessions in Kasimbar, Toribulu, and South Tinombo sub-districts, Parigi Moutong district.
In an attempt to disperse the crowd, a resident was shot and killed. A total of 59 residents who had been arrested by the police have been sent home
