Abandoned To Go Shopping For Vegetables, One House In Cipinang Catches Fire Due To An Exploding Gas Stove
JAKARTA - Residents around Ciplak Market, East Jakarta, were shocked by the appearance of flames from the house belonging to one resident.
A fire broke out at the house located on Jalan Panca Warga 1, RT 007/01, Cipinang Besar Selatan Village, Jatinegara District, East Jakarta on Wednesday, March 2, at around 07.05 WIB. Residents also reported to the nearest fire station.
"The kitchen part of a resident's house named Dr. Wulan (38) caught fire. It is suspected that it was due to a gas cylinder leak," said Head of East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Sudin Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. Gatot Sulaeman to reporters, Wednesday, March 2.
A total of 5 units of fire engines were dispatched to the location to extinguish the fire with 25 officers. The new fire can be extinguished around 07.46 WIB.
"The area of the object burned was 48 square meters. The total loss was approximately Rp. 100 million rupiah," he said.
According to witness statements, before the fire occurred, the owner of the house was cooking in the burning kitchen room and then left the house.
"While cooking, he was left to buy vegetables in front of the house. When he returned, it turned out that there was a fire in the kitchen. There were no casualties or injuries, we managed to save 1 family with 2 lives," he said.
