JAKARTA—Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto expressed his appreciation to European countries for remaining committed to strengthening cooperation in the midst of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

Airlangga made this statement in front of European countries during the opening speech of the 1st Indonesia-Europe Business Forum: Enhancing Partnership for Stronger Economic Recovery, Tuesday, March 1.

According to Airlangga, despite geopolitical friction in European countries, they still maintain good relations with Indonesia. This is proven by the convening of the 1st Indonesia-Europe Business Forum: Enhancing Partnership for Stronger Economic Recovery.

Airlangga representing the Indonesian government expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the efforts of this Indonesia-Europe business forum.

"We appreciate the commitment of European countries to continue to strengthen cooperation in difficult situations such as recent days when there was geopolitical friction in Ukraine," said Airlangga in an official statement received by VOI.

The chairman of the Committee for Handling the Covid-19 and National Economic Recovery (KPCPEN) admitted that countries in Europe are important partners for Indonesia. He hopes that Indonesia and Europe can improve economic relations. Both bilaterally, regionally and multilaterally.

The General Chairperson of the Golkar Party DPP invites European investors to invest in Indonesia. Especially in the green energy sector. Currently, said Airlangga, Indonesia is trying to make an energy transition from using fossil energy to new renewable energy.

"Indonesia offers many opportunities for European companies and I invite the participation of European businesses to invest in Indonesia," he said.

In front of European investors, Airlangga explained that Indonesia has made infrastructure projects using new technology in a number of sectors. For example, in the transportation sector and in the development of green infrastructure.

"This includes the construction of the Nusantara IKN," said Airlangga.
