South Sulawesi Police Chief Removes Position Of Police Officer Suspected Of Rape ART

MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Nana Sudjana has removed the post of a middle-ranking officer (pamen) at the Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of the South Sulawesi Police with the initials M who is suspected of being his household assistant.

The Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Police, Kombes Komang Suartana, said that the Security Profession Division (Propam) of the South Sulawesi Police was conducting an investigation and was looking into the alleged forced assault case allegedly carried out by an AKBP person with the initials M.

"For the time being, he has been removed from office. This is so that members of Propam first focus on the investigation and the AKBP M focus on his case," he said, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 1.

He did not elaborate further on the case involving the AKBP-ranking pamen, but he emphasized that investigators still uphold the principle of the presumption of innocence.

Kombes Suartana explained that the removal of his position as one of the Heads of the Sub-Directorate (Kasubdit) at Ditpolair was to facilitate the inspection process.

"To facilitate the examination process, the person concerned has been removed from his position," he said.

Previously, based on information received in a case of alleged sexual abuse by the Pamen Polda of South Sulawesi with the rank of AKBP against his household member, IS, 13 years old, resident of Griya Barombong.

IS became an outlet for the lust of the police officers after IS became a household member at the South Sulawesi Regional Police's Ditpolairud official's house since September 2021.

IS himself admitted that he had been imprisoned from November 2021 to February 2022 because he was constantly forced and lured to pay for his education, including paying for his family's living needs.

The IS victim himself explained that he was living in poverty with his family and accepted a job as a household member at the police house.

IS admitted that his employer always abused him in his second house because there were family members in the first house.
