BIGBANG Has Not Decided To Renew Contract With YG Entertainment
JAKARTA - After BIGBANG entered the Coachella lineup this year, many fans questioned the continuation of their contract with the YG Entertainment agency.
BIGBANG's presence at Coachella has sparked speculation that the K-pop group has extended its exclusive contract. However, a source from YG Entertainment stated, "It is difficult to confirm or deny the details (of the contract) within a certain time."
Quoted from Soompi, Friday, January 3, reportedly the four BIGBANG personnel did not renew their contracts. Even so, they still discussed positively with the agency about the contract.
Not without reason. BIGBANG personnel; TOP, G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung have completed their military service since last year and they promised to make a comeback with their fans.
BIGBANG last released Flower Road as a gift to fans who were waiting for them from their military service.
Their appearance in Coachella is also what fans have been waiting for. The reason is, this is their first stage after their military service. Although it is not yet known whether he will release a new music project or perform his hit songs.
Previously, their youngest member, Seungri, resigned from BIGBANG and YG Entertainment in March 2019 due to the scandal that hit him.
On the other hand, CL, artist Kim Sae Ron, and singer Lee Hi decided not to renew their contract with YG Entertainment. A series of scandals related to Yang Hyun Suk as the owner of YG Entertainment made fans crowd asking their idols to leave the agency including BLACKPINK, WINNER, and AKMU.
So far they have also extended their contract twice with YG Entertainment, in 2011 and 2015. Fans hope that BIGBANG does not renew their contract because they feel BIGBANG deserves to build their own agency. What do you think?
