The Issue Of The Postponement Of The Election, Fahri Hamzah Actually Suspects That There Will Be An Emergence Of Groups That Have Started Playing Alone

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, responded to the statement by the Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretary Faldo Maldini who said that the government was not involved with the proposed postponement of the 2024 General Election. Faldo said that the discourse was an initiative of a political party. According to Fahri, currently there are groups that are starting to play alone without coordination with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). However, he did not specify whether the group was the head of a political party or another party.

"Perhaps Faldo as a young person is trying to be clear in seeing that the interest groups besides Jokowi are now starting to play alone and there is no longer coordination with the President and the Palace. Because they are players who have short-term interests," Fahri told reporters, Tuesday, March 1st.

Fahri believes that there must be a figure like Faldo to save Indonesian democracy. His words are at the same time a prayer for the PSI politician to always be clear in seeing problems.

"That is my prayer to Faldo, hopefully he stays clear and comes out with his ideals to save Indonesian democracy," he said.

Regarding the proposals of the three political parties, Fahri believes that there must be differences of opinion with Jokowi. However, he reminded that Jokowi had ordered the Minister of Home Affairs and the KPU to continue holding elections in 2024.

"The President has ordered the Minister of Home Affairs and the KPU together with the DPR to agree on the 14 February 2024 Election. This means that it is final!" Fahri said. Previously, the Special Staff of the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Faldo Maldini, said that the government was not involved in the discourse of postponing the 2024 general election. He said the government did not know about the plan.

"The declaration of support is an aspiration from a political party. The government does not know about the plan. As an aspiration, of course it is accommodated, as the government accommodates various inputs that have been received from the community and all political parties," Faldo said in his statement, Tuesday, February 1.

"This has nothing to do with the government, let alone related to political transactions. So, don't get dragged into it," he continued.
