0.02 Percent Deflation In February, BPS: Cooking Oil, Eggs And Chicken Meat Most Influential
JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that there was a deflation of 0.02 percent throughout February 2022.
Deputy for Distribution Statistics and Services at BPS Setianto said the results made the inflation book for the calendar year (January-February 2022) to be 0.72 percent and on an annual basis (February 2022 to February 2021) was 2.03 percent.
"The main contributor to deflation is related to the price of cooking oil, broiler eggs, and purebred chicken," he said when holding a virtual press conference on Tuesday, March 1.
Setianto explained that the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan at minus 2.08 percent and the lowest deflation was in Palembang, Palangkaraya and Tarakan at minus 0.01 percent.
Meanwhile, the highest inflation was in Kupang with 0.65 percent and the lowest inflation was in Tanjung Selor at 0.01 percent.
