The Police Reveals The Increased Crime Rate During The Week

JAKARTA - The National Police said that the crime rate in the last week has increased. These crimes range from drugs to theft.

Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the National Police's Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, said that in the 36th week, the total disturbance of security and public order was 4,571 incidents. Meanwhile, for the 37th week it reached 5,354 incidents.

"There was an increase in the crime rate of 783 incidents or 17.13 percent," Awi told reporters, Tuesday, September 15.

If we refer to the data per crime, continued Awi, the number of conventional crimes increased by 15.71 percent this week.

"The 36th week of conventional crimes was 3,902, while the 37th week was 4,515. There was an increase of 613 incidents or 15.71 percent," he said.

The highest form of conventional crime is narcotics cases with 768 incidents in the past week. Then cases of theft, embezzlement and motor vehicle theft.

"There were 768 narcotics cases, 605 cases of theft, 380 cases of embezzlement. 246 cases of motorbike theft, 103 cases of theft with violence," Awi said.

Meanwhile, transnational crime has also increased. There are 796 recorded transnational crimes.

Meanwhile, for crimes against state assets, this week decreased by 35.94 percent. Previously there were 64 incidents recorded, while in the last week there were 41 incidents.
