Mortality Rate Rises In 5 Provinces, Including West Sumatra And DKI Jakarta
JAKARTA - There has been an increase in the number of COVID-19 patients who have died by 2.2 percent in the past week. There are five provinces that contributed the highest increase in death cases, the first place is West Sumatra.
"The weekly development of COVID-19 cases, during the past week there has been 2.2 percent, where the number one highest increase in death was West Sumatra by 150 percent from four to 10 people," said Wiku Adisasmito, spokesman for the COVID-19 Task Force. in an online press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Tuesday, September 15.
"Second is Bali, up 72.5 percent, from 40 to 69. Third is Riau by 35.5 percent or from 17 to 23 people. Meanwhile, the fourth is DKI Jakarta, which has increased by 28.6 percent from 91 to 117 people and the fifth is DKI Jakarta. is East Java, which increased 11.2 percent from 196 to 218 people, "he added.
Apart from the increase in the mortality rate, Wiku also recorded five provinces with a high percentage of deaths. The first is East Java, Central Java, Bengkulu, West Sumatra, and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).
The percentage of deaths in East Java stands at 7.2 percent. This figure, said Wiku, is said to exceed the average percentage of world and national deaths.
"East Java has a mortality rate of 7.2 percent. We need to convey as a comparison, Indonesia has an average death rate of 4.1 percent, and the world is 3.16 percent," he explained.
Meanwhile, for the city with the highest mortality rate, Surabaya is in the first position with a total of 35,906 per 100 thousand inhabitants; Semarang City with a total of 31.71 per 100 thousand population; and Central Jakarta with a total of 29.79 per 100 thousand inhabitants.
Furthermore, there is the city of Manado with 23.03 per 100 thousand inhabitants and the city of Mataram with 22.93 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Please help all our people who are now facing a pandemic, let us protect the safety of the Indonesian people by strictly implementing health protocols. West Java recorded the highest recovery rateIn addition to the death rate, Wiku explained that a number of provinces experienced the highest increase in recovered cases nationally. As a result of this addition, the percentage of recovered cases in Indonesia currently reaches 14.1 percent.
The five provinces that experienced additional cases of recovery were West Java, which increased by more than 100 percent from 460 patients who had recovered to 1,131 people; Southeast Sulawesi 100 percent from 72 patients to 182 people; Riau Islands also recorded the same percentage, namely 100 percent, with the number of patients recovering from 43 to 266 people.
Furthermore, Bengkulu, from 5 recovered patients, has now increased to 23 people and the last one is North Maluku, where there are no recovered patients, now there are 13 patients who have recovered.
Meanwhile, for the highest percentage of recovery, Gorontalo is in the first place with 82.75 percent; Central Sulawesi with 85.24 percent; Bangka Belitung Islands 84.45 percent; West Kalimantan 83.79 percent; and North Kalimantan 83.12 percent.
From that data, Wiku asked other local governments to be able to pursue this percentage to prove that Indonesia is capable of handling the COVID-19 pandemic.
