Chief of Police Issues Security Guard Rank Rules, from Executive to Manager
JAKARTA - The National Police Chief, General Idham Azis, issued regulations and guidelines for the security force profession (security guard). They also regulated the rank of the security guard.
Based on the Head of the National Police of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation (Perkap) Number 4 of 2020 concerning Self-Defense, security ranks are arranged into three groups. Article 19 of the Perkap mentions the security rank groups, namely managers, supervisors, and executors.
Security guards are required to attend education or training as stipulated in Article 21 Perkap. Later, the training will be carried out by the National Police or the Security Service Business Entity (BUJP), which has an Operator License (SIO) for training services.
"Primary Gada training, for executive level. Intermediate Gada training, for supervisor level. Main Gada training, for manager level," was quoted from the Perkap, Tuesday, September 15.
The rank ranks are again divided into three levels. Each group has three ranks: manager, middle manager, and general manager. Likewise, the two other groups.
Each group also has a rank sign with a different color with a similar shape, namely a triangle. The executive rank is white, then the supervisor rank is yellow, and the manager rank is red.
Besides, the Perkap also regulates the length of service for security guards based on age. For security guards who come from individuals, they will enter retirement at the age of 56 to 70 years.
For security guards who come from retired Polri or TNI officers will enter their retirement period when they are 60 to 70 years old.
"The retirement age limit for individual security guards, namely 56 years for executors; 58 years for supervisors; and 70 years for managers. Meanwhile, for security guards who come from retired Polri or TNI personnel, the retirement age limit is 60 for executor; 65 years for supervisors; and 70 years for managers," reads Article 31.
