Drug Case Suspects Escape In Kemayoran, Hit Road Users In Pulogadung And Almost Enraged By Mobs In Kelapa Gading
JAKARTA - A suspect in a drug case who was trying to escape, hit a road user in Pulomas, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta, Friday night, February 25. But his reckless action was thwarted by the community. The suspect was finally arrested by the Patrol Officer of the North Jakarta Kelapa Gading Police.
According to the Head of Kelapa Gading Police, Commissioner of Police, Rio Mikael L Tobing, his party carried out security measures after receiving reports from the public. The report stated that a minibus driver was surrounded by a mob on Jalan Boulevard Barat Raya, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, because of a hit-and-run case.
"We have secured the driver and his vehicle to the Kelapa Gading Police," said Rio when confirmed, Saturday, February 26 by Antara.
Rio explained that after examining the reported person, the police found out that he was trying to escape from the Drug Investigation Unit of the Kemayoran Police Sector, Central Jakarta.
While fleeing, he said, the reported hit a road user who was passing through Pulomas, Pulo Gadung, East Jakarta.
"After we investigated, it turned out that he was a suspect in a drug case at the Kemayoran Police, who was trying to escape," said Rio.
Chronologically, the suspect in the drug case tried to escape using a minibus with police number B 9620 PCE, and was chased by members of the Kemayoran Police.
During the chase, the driver of the minibus allegedly hit other road users and kept trying to escape, so that the residents also chased the vehicle he was driving.
Then, on Jalan Boulevard Barat Raya Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, the vehicle was stopped because it was damaged. The rear view mirror and windshield were broken and the right side front tire was no longer functioning because it was damaged.
Some residents also reported to the Kelapa Gading Police. Police officers then took the driver and his vehicle to the Kelapa Gading Police Station.
Rio has not been able to determine the number of victims who were hit by the minibus driver in the Pulomas area, Pulo Gadung, as well as the total loss due to the hit-and-run incident. However, based on temporary information, said Rio, there were more than one victim of the collision.
According to Rio, his party will coordinate with the Kemayoran Police regarding drug cases, as well as coordinate with the Pulo Gadung Police regarding the hit-and-run case.
