A Motorbike Gang Closed Rancabali Ciwidey Road, Police Will Take Action If It's Repeated

BANDUNG - A motorbike gang closed the tea plantation route in Rancabali, Ciwidey, Bandung Regency. The motorists roared their exhausts while huddling in the middle of the road.

Head of Bandung Police, Commissioner Erik Bangun Prakasa, regretted their actions. They are considered to have ignored traffic rules because they disturbed other road users.

"The riders and the motorcycle community must obey the existing traffic rules for mutual safety," Erik told reporters, Tuesday, September 15.

Erik said the motorists' actions did not apply health protocols. In the video, the motorists gathered without masks, screaming, until the access road for cars was closed.

"This activity violates health protocols and endangers other road users. We must adhere to the health protocol while driving to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus," he said.

Erik emphasized that he would take action against the motorist gang if it happens again. He asks the public to actively report to the police if they encounter any traffic violators. 

"If the public sees a similar incident, report it to the officers. So, we can curb the activity," he said.

This incident occurred on Sunday, September 13. Meanwhile, the Rancabali tea plantation route. Ciwidey is known to be a frequent photo location when the streets are empty.
