GP Ansor Reports About Defamation, Roy Suryo: God Willing, We Will Face It Together
JAKARTA - The former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo stated that he would face legal proceedings regarding the reporting of the Ansor Youth Movement (GP) at Metro Jaya Police. The report is regarding the alleged defamation of the Minister of Religion (Menag) Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
"My response is clear and firm, bismillahirrahmanirrahim, God willing, we will face it together," Roy told reporters, Saturday, February 26.
In addition, Roy was also surprised by the report. This is because the main problem, in this case, is a thread containing questions.
"Questioning the question sentence in my tweet," said Roy.
On the other hand, Roy also said that he knew he was being policed after receiving information from social media Twitter. Where, it is said that GP Anshor's report against him was received by Metro Jaya Police.
"After our report was rejected yesterday, this afternoon there was a tweet that the report from the brother DZF on behalf of the Indonesian people and GP Ansor was received at the Metro Jaya Police," said Roy Suryo.
The Youth Movement (GP) Ansor has officially reported the telematics and informatics expert Roy Suryo on suspicions of defamation, slander, and hate speech to the Metro Jaya Police. The report was related to Roy Suryo's tweet which included a video statement from the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas.
"We have reported several articles, including the ITE Law, the Criminal Code, and articles on riots. The reports have been received," said the Head of the Litigation and Non-Litigation Advocacy Division, the Legal Aid Institute for Central Leadership GP Ansor Dendy Zuhairil Finsa.

In the report, Roy Suryo is suspected of violating Article 310 of the Criminal Code and or Article 311 of the Criminal Code and or Article 28 Paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 45 Paragraph 2 and/or Article 32 Paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 48 Paragraph 1 of Law Number 16 of 2016 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
In addition, Article 14 Paragraph 1 and Article 15 of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 1946 concerning Criminal Law Regulations.
