YouTube Shorts Launch As TikTok Competitors In India

JAKARTA - At a time when TikTok's future in the United States is tipping over. Many platforms are taking advantage of this opportunity to launch new features, one of which is YouTube.

Google's video sharing platform recently launched YouTube Shorts. A shortcut to view short 15 second videos.

Citing Techcrunch, Tuesday, September 15, YouTube's new features began to be tested for its users on YouTube. At first glance this feature is similar to TikTok which allows users to create and watch short videos directly on the YouTube platform.

Creators can use the multi-segment camera feature which can combine separate clips. As well as speed control, timer and countdown so that users can make videos without needing to hold the cellphone.

If the YouTube user has updated their app then when opening the homepage the Shorts bar will be visible there. This video bar will include all YouTube Shorts content from your favorite creators.

Just like TikTok, users can easily swipe up or down to move to the next video. The platform will also recommend users of new Shorts content.

In fact, the YouTube Shorts project was first introduced last April. In a blog post, YouTube is testing this feature for Android and iOS devices.

Especially TikTok, which is currently being banned in various countries, one of which is India. Others, YouTube also argued that India is one of the fastest growing markets for video streaming services.

Not only YouTube, Instagram also takes advantage of the TikTok moment to release a new feature, namely Reels. This feature also has a TikTok-style creative video recording experience.
