Neymar Becomes A Victim Of Racial Actions, PSG Urges LFP Commissioner To Investigate

JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain claims to be completely behind Neymar after the Brazilian was subjected to racist taunts when the French League champions lost 1-0 against Olympique de Marseille on Sunday.

Neymar, 28, who was one of the players sent off during the match at the Parc des Princes, told match officials that he heard racist curses while walking off the pitch.

In a question Monday local time PSG urged the French football league body (LFP) to investigate the matter.

"Paris Saint-Germain fully supports Neymar Jr who reports being the target of racist abuse from an opposing player," the club said as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 15.

"The club affirms that there is no place for racism in society, in football or in that life and calls on everyone to speak out against all forms of racism in all corners of the world."

"Paris Saint-Germain looks forward to the LFP Disciplinary Commission to investigate and confirm the facts," concluded PSG.

This match was marked by a commotion which caused three PSG players - Neymar, Laywin Kurzawa and Leandro Paredes - and two Marseille players namely Dario Benedetto and Jordan Amavi to be red cards after the five players got involved in boxing and kicking each other.

Neymar who kicked the back of Alvaro Gonzalez tweeted that the only thing he regrets is not kicking the Marseille defender in the face.
