Regarding Refugees, Anies And The Central Government Again Different Opinions

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan has invited refugees affected by the flood to return to live in their homes. Anies' statement is different from the suggestion from the central government that asks residents to stay in refugee camps.

Anies stated that in principle, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government does not prohibit residents from returning to their homes because according to him, the current housing conditions are not at risk.

"Residents can immediately return to their homes and carry out activities as before. I convey to all ranks, as long as there are residents in evacuation, as long as public facilities have not returned to their original state, we are still working all out," said Anies in the Cengkareng area, West Jakarta, Friday, January 3.

Anies understands that after being hit by the floods, residents will definitely want to clean their houses from the remaining mud that has settled. "The provincial government has also prepared carbolic acid and disinfectants so that problems returning to the house can make the house clean and healthy again," said Anies.

If there is information on weather forecasts and heavy rain that will flush again, said Anies, the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will give an early warning to the public.

Regarding this difference of opinion, yesterday the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo appealed to residents affected by the floods not to force themselves to stay in their homes.

Based on BMKG weather forecasts, high rainfall will continue for the next week, although currently the floods have started to recede. Therefore, Doni asked residents, especially those living on the riverbanks to evacuate immediately.

"Don't let the people still survive in areas that are close to the river's edge, because suddenly the floods can come suddenly and there is no chance to save themselves," said Doni, Thursday, January 2.

Doni understands the reason the residents decided to stay at home so that they can save their belongings if the floods escalate and keep them from being stolen. However, this will make it difficult for officers to evacuate. Moreover, if there are landslides in the vicinity of residential areas.

Cross Opinions on Ciliwung Normalization

Previously, the disagreement between Anies and the central government began when PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono monitored Jakarta's flood conditions via helicopter.

Basuki apologized first to Anies Baswedan before stating his statement regarding the results of the monitoring while in the helicopter. According to him, the areas that are flooded are areas that have not been nominated. "We apologize, the Governor, during the exploration of the Ciliwung River that it turns out that the 33 kilometers (km) that have been handled are normalized to 16 km. "he said, glancing at Anies.

You can see Basuki adjust his breath, then continue his pengataanya. "But what has not been normalized is inundated. Now, this is said to be discussed with the Governor to discuss making the program," he said.

It was Anies' turn to talk about the flood after monitoring it via air. As if he didn't want to lose, Anies also apologized first to Basuki before responding to his statement regarding the normalization of the Ciliwung River.

According to Anies, the source of the flood problem is not in normalization. However, there is control over water. For him, no matter how wide the land is released, if there is no control of water from the South. Jakarta will still be flooded.

"I'm sorry, Minister, I have to take the view because you said earlier. So, as long as water is allowed from the South to enter Jakarta and there is no control from the South. So whatever we do on the coast, including in Jakarta, will not be able to control the water," he said. .
