The Boy From Jonggol Was Finally Found After 22 Hours Drifting In The Cigugur River, Bogor
BOGOR - A six-year-old boy with the initials HB was found dead after drifting for about 22 hours in the Cigugur River, Sukamaju Village, Jonggol, Bogor Regency, West Java.
"On the second day of searching, Alhamdulillah, we were able to find about five kilometers from the missing report point," said the Young Disaster Management Officer at the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), M Adam Hamdani when contacted, Antara, Thursday, February 24.
According to him, the boy from Jonggol reportedly drowned on Wednesday, January 23, 2022 at 16.00 WIB.
After receiving the report, the joint SAR team immediately carried out search efforts until 23.00 WIB, but to no avail. The search continued the next day.
"We managed to evacuate his body at around 14.30 WIB," said Adam.
HB is a resident of Sukamaju Village, Bogor Regency.
Adam explained that HB before drowning was swimming with his friends and brother in the Cigugur River. Then, at around 15.00 WIB, heavy rain fell at the location, so that Habib was carried away by the current.
"The victim was carried away by the current and could not be helped by her brother, then her sister reported it to security and her parents. Before drowning, the child was swimming in the Cigugur River," he explained.
