Airlangga Hartarto Says Palm Oil Farmers In Pekanbaru Ask Jokowi To Be President For Three Periods
PEKANBARU - Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, received the aspirations of the farming community during a working visit to Siak, Pekanbaru, Thursday, February 24.
In a question and answer session, farmers in Libo Jaya Village, Kandis, Siak Regency stated that they wanted the sustainability of the government under President Joko Widodo, because of his policies that have improved the lives of oil palm farmers.
“We caught the aspiration about the desire for a sustainable policy and also the aspiration for the same policy to continue. Of course, the one who answered this request was not the Coordinating Minister because the Coordinating Minister had answered the palm oil business", said Airlangga in an official statement.
Airlangga, who is also the General Chair of the Golkar Party, stated that he must be ready to accept this aspiration. "Because we have hats from political parties, and members of the Indonesian House of Representatives are present here, therefore we absorb the aspirations of the people from Siak Regency, especially planters and farmers. Because we are the general chairman of political parties, it is our job to absorb the aspirations of the people", said Airlangga.
Including aspirations to ask for a continuation of the program and ask for an extension of the government, Airlangga promised to discuss it with other political parties.
"We will discuss these aspirations with the leaders of other political parties, and for us, for the Golkar party the aspirations of the people are the aspirations of the party because we will continue to accept the aspirations of the people, and of course, they will be channeled", said Airlangga.
The members of the Indonesian House of Representatives from Golkar who were also present at the visit of the Strategic Partnership's Palm Oil Replanting Program, have also heard for themselves what the people's aspirations are.
Airlangga admitted that thanks to President Joko Widodo's policies, the income of smallholders from palm oil has now increased by 3.5 times. "This is thanks to the leadership of the President. Of course, as a political party, we will listen to these aspirations, and once again we will communicate that this success is felt by the community and people with aspirations", he said.

"My hope and that of other oil palm farmers, Mr. President Jokowi, can be three terms, since he became president the price of palm oil is very good. But if possible the price of fertilizer is reduced. In addition, road construction in this area needs to be repaired quickly", said Sihombing.
