Banyumas Police Intervened To Investigate The Car That Was Hit By The Bangunkarta Train Which Killed 2 People
JAKARTA - The Banyumas City Resort Police (Polresta) is still investigating the case of a car being hit by the Bangunkarta train in the Jombang-Pasarsenen connection at an official crossing that is guarded independently by the community, Kuntili Village, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Wednesday, February 23 yesterday.
"We are still investigating because all the survivors, including the driver, are still being treated for their injuries," said Kasatlantas of the Banyumas Police, Commissioner Ari Prayitno in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Thursday afternoon, February 24.
He said that based on the results of the temporary investigation, it was discovered that the car had broken through the crossing without a gate that was guarded independently by the community when the Bangunkarta train was about to pass.
Until finally, he said, the back of the left car was hit by the Bangunkarta train, resulting in the death of two passengers, namely Supardi and Yatiman, residents of Sibrama Village RT 01 RW 01, Kemranjen District, Banyumas.
"One of the passengers who died was found outside the car," he continued.
According to him, the victim on behalf of Yatiman was found dead in a drowning position in the river.
The accident also resulted in injuries to three people in the car, namely the driver named Widiyono Pramono (WP) and passengers on behalf of Supriati and Herni Widiasari, all residents of Sibrama Village RT 01 RW 01.
In this case, the driver with the initials WP and the injured victim on behalf of Widiono (as previously reported, ed.) are the same person.
Meanwhile, the volunteer crossing guard identified as Kasirun suffered a broken bone in his right hand because he was hit by a car that was crossing the crossing.
"The driver has indeed been arrested but because of his injuries, he has to undergo treatment with two passengers and a volunteer crossing guard. We cannot ask for information because they are still traumatized," said Kompol Ari.
Furthermore, he said that after completing the investigation, his party would title the case and then transfer it to the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit for further investigation.
According to him, this is because the railway line is not a road category, so the investigation will be carried out by the Satreskrim.
"At the very least, it will be subject to the Railway Law and in conjunction with the Traffic and Road Transportation Law," he said.

Prior to the incident, local residents and other motorists had warned car drivers that a train would pass by.
However, the warning was not heeded and the driver of the car, known to have the initials WB, continued to break through the crossing even though from a distance, the slogan 35 sounded by the driver of Plb 121b KA Bangunkarta through the trumpet of the locomotive CC 203 98 18.
Due to the short distance, the back of the car was hit by Plb 121b KA Bangunkarta, so that two passengers died and three other passengers and the volunteer crossing guard were injured.
The incident also caused Plb 121b KA Bangunkarta to make an extraordinary stop in the vicinity of the incident location to inspect the locomotive CC 203 98 18 which was pulling the train series.
After the locomotive and circuit were declared in good condition, Plb 121b KA Bangunkarta continued its journey to Pasarsenen.
