Gamers Make Live Streaming Easy With Xbox Bringing Twitch Back To Their Consoles

JAKARTA - After a few years ago removing Twitch from its console, Microsoft is now bringing the streaming platform back to the Xbox. Twitch can be used by all Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One users.

Before being brought back, the feature has been tested since last October. Microsoft removed the Twitch integration in 2017, a few years after it was first added to its Xbox One dashboard.

"With everything going on in the world, it's more important than ever that we stay connected with our friends, family and communities," said Brenna Duffitt, a software engineer at Xbox platform services.

At that time, users who wanted to stream from Xbox to Twitch could only from the Twitch app. To use this new capability, gamers can navigate to the capture and share tab of the Xbox wizard and select live streaming on an Xbox Series X/S or Xbox One console.

However, gamers must link their Twitch account first by scanning a QR code on their iOS, Android or PC mobile device to navigate to the URL. Once the gamer account is linked, they can select the live now button to start a live stream of the downloaded game to their console.

Furthermore, gamers can use a headset and webcam, then set the streaming title. Xbox also includes the ability for users to manage their game audio and microphone levels from the options panel.

Launching TechCrunch, Thursday, February 24, gamers also have the option to manage chats and manually set their resolution and bitrate. If you want to swap games in the middle of a live broadcast, a pause screen will be displayed when gamers stop playing the game and the console will then automatically update the games they are playing on Twitch.
