Following Up On The KNKT Regarding The Number Of Accidents, TransJakarta Provides Driver Rest Facilities At The Ragunan Bus Stop

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD), PT Transport Jakarta (TransJakarta), provides rest facilities for drivers at Ragunan Bus Stop, South Jakarta.

President Director of PT TransJakarta Mochammad Yana Aditya said the presence of the resting facility was a follow-up to the recommendations of the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) regarding safety evaluations.

"The construction of the driver's break facility which was launched is our effort to improve quality in order to improve our operational standards. At the same time, following up on what the KNKT has conveyed," Yana said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 24.

Yana said the resting place for the driver has a number of facilities, such as a relaxing room equipped with air conditioning, lockers, and a mini kitchen.

Yana hopes that the presence of these resting facilities can provide comfort for the driver so that they can be maximized when carrying out their duties.

"The capacity is approximately seven to 10 pilots. It is hoped that these facilities can really be used to relax and unwind," said Yana without specifying how much the budget was prepared for the driver's resting place.

Meanwhile, Head of KNKT Soerjanto Tjahjono welcomed the presence of the driver's rest facility and hoped that it would be a good start for the improvement of TransJakarta.

"We are happy that one of the solutions is how we prevent fatigue because most accidents are caused by 'human factors'. Repairs carried out in TransJakarta need time, cannot do magic," said Soerjanto.
