Reveals The First Stage Of IKN Development, Jokowi: Starting With Revitalization And Reforestation Of Forests

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the construction of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago will be carried out in several stages. In the first stage, forest revitalization and reforestation will be carried out, especially in the core areas of the central government.

"The IKN Nusantara development plan will begin in the first stage in the core area of the central government and will begin with revitalizing and reforesting forests first," Jokowi said as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat YouTube, Wednesday, February 23.

Furthermore, the government will start the next stage in the form of basic infrastructure development, green and blue areas of the city, to the facilities and infrastructure.

"Followed by the development of basic infrastructure, green and blue areas of the city, government complexes, offices, and housing, along with their facilities and infrastructure," said the former governor of DKI Jakarta.

Jokowi is aware that many parties have expressed their aspirations and expressed their hopes for the new capital city. So, IKN development will be a big job that requires contributions from many parties.

Moreover, IKN in the future will be a representation of a superior nation and an example for other cities in Indonesia.

"The role and cooperation for all of us is also needed," he stressed.

"Non-business as usual approach, best team performance, urban planners and designers, architects, engineers, environmentalists, socio-economics, culturalists, artists and other experts who can work in an integrated, multi-disciplinary and involve thinking and solutions the best, both by the nation's children and donations from the world community," added Jokowi.

Furthermore, Jokowi also said that IKN would later be a step in transforming society. Everything there will be interconnected and integrated.
