Head Of DKI DPRD Asks Anies To Directly Monitor Tofu-Tempe Scarcity In Jakarta
JAKARTA - Chairman of the DKI DPRD Prasetyo Edi Marsudi asked DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to directly monitor field conditions and listen to public complaints regarding the scarcity of a number of basic commodities.
He conveyed this after the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD received an audience from tofu and tempe craftsmen, the DKI Jakarta Indonesian Tofu and Tempe Cooperative Center (Puskopti), which is currently on strike for production and trade.
As is known, residents in various areas including Jakarta had difficulty finding cooking oil.
Currently, another problem is followed, namely the scarcity of tofu and tempeh. This scarcity is due to the increase in the price of soybeans as a raw material for the production of these foods.
"As a local government, as a governor, you have to go directly to the bottom to see what is going on. Currently, oil is already in stock, but tempe and tofu are not available," said Prasetyo at the DKI DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, February 23. .
Prasetyo said the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD would accommodate the complaints from the DKI Jakarta Puskopti that had been submitted today.
In their hearing, the tofu and tempeh craftsmen asked the government to stabilize soybean prices, and to provide subsidies from the government.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD Gembong Warsono said his party would propose summoning the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government and Regional Owned Enterprises that deal with food issues to find a solution to the problem of rising soybean prices.
"Obviously in the near future we will summon BUMD for food security to invite us to coordinate to maintain price stability in Jakarta," said Gembong.
