Four Teenage Girls Victims Of Trafficking In Paniai Papua Handed Over To Sukabumi Police

JAYAPURA - Four teenage girls who were victims of trafficking in Paniai Regency, Papua, were handed over to the Sukabumi Police to be sent home to their parents.

The handover by the Paniai Police Station was carried out at the KP3 Polsek at Sentani Airport, upon their arrival from Nabire.

Paniai Police Chief AKBP Abdus Syukur was quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 22 as saying the four trafficking victims in their statement admitted that they were recruited from Sukabumi, West Java and have worked as song guides since October 2021.

In fact, they were also lured with a bonus of Rp. 7 million, said Abdus, while stating that the four teenagers admitted that apart from being a song guide, they also served johns.

Previously, four teenagers namely AN (25), IA (18), NS (18), and SZ (17) worked at location 99, but due to problems with their boss, they were transferred to Baya Biru by helicopter.

Location 99 and Baya Biru are people's mining areas in Paniai Regency, said Abdus Syukur.

The Paniai Police Chief said that apart from handing over the four juvenile trafficking victims, his party also handed over two suspects to the Sukabumi Police, who recruited the four victims, namely H (women) and MD.

"The Sukabumi Police have determined the suspect as a suspect," said Abdus Syukur.
