Three Indonesian Air Force Fighter Planes Hold Operations In Ambalat
TARAKAN - Three fighter planes from the Indonesian Air Force EMB-314 Super Tucano from the Abdulrachman Saleh Airfield Squadron in Malang, East Java arrived at Anang Busra Air Base, Tarakan, North Kalimantan.
"The presence of three fighter planes to Anang Busra Air Base in the context of routine operations in the Ambalat area," said Anang Busra Airbase Commander Colonel Pnb Toto Ginanto, in Tarakan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 22.
The Indonesian Air Force has routine operations carrying out operations in the Ambalat area which is directly adjacent to neighboring Malaysia.
"This operation is a joint operation, so it is not only the Air Force itself, but also operations carried out jointly with the Indonesian Navy, in this case Pangkoarmada II," said Toto.
However, for the task force, the commander of the air task force is under the Commander of the Hasanuddin Air Base, Makassar.
In addition, there are also Super Puma Nas-332/H-3211 helicopters which are also on standby at Anang Busra Air Base and there are two KRIs in Ambalat waters since January 2022.
He explained that the operation carried out in the Ambalat area was not something extraordinary, only a routine activity every year. Operational activities until Friday, February 25.
The fighter aircraft belonging to the Indonesian Air Force will also spread to other air bases that will support TNI operations.
"The anticipation is of course guarding against various kinds of threats. So far, nothing has happened," said Toto.
He said that routine activities in Ambalat are the entrance to the Indonesian archipelagic sea lanes, of course, their movements must be monitored continuously.
