Pertalite in South Tangerang Is IDR 6,450/Liter, Airin: It's To Maintain the Community Welfare

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero), through Marketing Operation Region (MOR) III, invites the people of South Tangerang to use higher quality fuel oil (BBM) to improve environmental quality. For this reason, Pertamina is holding various promotions. Including Pertalite special prices for certain groups, as well as a Cashback Promo.

Unit Manager for Communication Relations and CSR MOR III, Eko Kristiawan, said that this education and promotion program is a support from the government. It's according to Government Regulation No. 41 of 1999 concerning Air Pollution Control, which needs the attention of all parties.

Controlling motor vehicle exhaust emission is an effort to reduce air pollution. For example, by using higher quality and environmentally friendly fuel.

"This is also in line with the aspirations of the South Tangerang City Government to create a healthy environment. Through these various promos, we hope that the public will take an active role in using higher quality fuel. Together, we make the sky in South Tangerang blue," said Eko in a written statement, Sunday, September 13.

Eko explained that higher-quality fuel has a high octane (Research Octane Number / RON) content. So, it is more environmentally friendly because it has low emissions. Besides, higher-quality fuel will have a positive impact on vehicle performance. It will be more efficient in fuel consumption because the combustion in the engine room is perfect.

Therefore, he explained, Pertamina continues to encourage the use of quality fuel products. Namely, Pertalite with RON 90, Pertamax RON 92, and Pertamax Turbo RON 98.

To support this, he inaugurated the Blue Sky program in South Tangerang, Sunday, September 13. This program is a continuation of the Blue Sky Program, which was already implemented in Denpasar since early July 2020.

Similar to the program in Denpasar, in South Tangerang, Pertamina also provides a discount promo for Pertalite products. It is now the same as the price of Premium products. The price was originally IDR 7,650 per liter, now it's IDR 6,450 per liter.

This promo is valid at 38 gas stations in the South Tangerang area for two and three-wheeled motorized vehicles, city public transportation (angkot), and yellow-plate taxis.

"Apart from two-wheeled and three-wheeled motorized vehicles, Pertamina also targets yellow-plate angkot and taxis. Hopefully, they could become an example for the public. We should care more about the environment and switch to quality fuel. Apart from that, with special prices, we invite motorbike drivers. It gets a customer experience. With high-quality fuel, the engine is more durable and powerful," said Eko.

Eko added, despite holding a promo, Pertamina still provides Premium in the South Tangerang area. Namely, at gas stations in Pondok Cabe, Cirendeu, Rawa Buntu, and Pondok Jagung. In addition, Ciputat, Pamulang, and Sawah Lama.

With the implementation of the Blue Sky program, Mayor Airin Rachmi Diany, positively welcomed the program as an effort to reduce air pollution.

"Through this program, we also appreciate Pertamina's role in maintaining the community's readiness. Especially for users of certain vehicles, such as two-wheeled, three-wheeled, public transportation, and taxis. Of course, this is in accordance with the government's advice to maintain community welfare," said Airin.

It is in line with Pertamina's efforts to ease the burden on the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The consumption of Premium products in South Tangerang is only 20% of the total consumption of all fuels. Meanwhile, Pertalite dominated gasoline consumption by 50%.
