SAR Team Finds 2 Victims Drowning In Donan River Cilacap
PURWOKERTO - The joint search and rescue (SAR) team managed to find two of the three children who drowned in the Donan River, Kutawaru Village, Cilacap Regency, Central Java.
"The first victim found was Syahdan Arofi (11). He was found dead in the vicinity of the incident location on Monday (21/2), at 22.50 WIB, and was immediately taken to the funeral home in Kutawaru Village, Central Cilacap District. ," said Head of the Cilacap Search and Rescue Office (KPP/Basarnas), I Nyoman Sidakarya, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, February 22.
Meanwhile, the second victim found by the joint SAR team was identified as Tommy Hasan (11).
According to Sidakarya, Tommy's body was found dead about 5 kilometers from the incident location upstream on Tuesday, February 22, at 13.00 WIB.
"Tommy's body was found when the joint SAR team conducted a search on the water surface using a jukung boat. After being evacuated, Tommy's body was immediately returned to the funeral home in Kutawaru Village," he said.
Nyoman said with the discovery of the two bodies, the joint SAR team is still searching for another victim on behalf of Dzaqwan Labieb alias Zaki (11).
According to him, the SAR operation to find three children who drowned around Jojok Pier, Donan River involved personnel from the Cilacap Basarnas, Cilacap Police Water Police Unit, Cilacap Naval Base, Cilacap Regency BPBD, Cilacap RAPI, Cilacap Rescue, Jojok Volunteers, SAR MTA, Kutawaru SAR, Kutawaru Fishermen Association, and assisted by local residents and the families of the victims.
Three children identified as Dzaqwan Labieb alias Zaki (11), Tommy Hasan (11), and Syahdan Arofi (11), residents of Jalan Nusa Puring RT 04 RW 05, Kutawaru Village, were reported missing due to drowning around Jojok Pier, Donan River, Kutawaru Village, on Monday (21/2), at 16.30 WIB.
The incident occurred when the three children were bathing around Jojok Pier with another child known as Rama (9). However, without them knowing, the waters of the Donan River which is connected to Segara Anakan experienced a tide and drowned them.
One child named Rama was rescued by local residents, while three other children were missing, so a search was carried out involving a joint SAR team.
