Prosecutor Detains Village Treasurer Related To Village Fund Corruption In West Aceh

MEULABOH - The West Aceh District Prosecutor's Investigation Team detained a man with the initials M, as Treasurer of Leubok Pasi Ara Village, Woyla District, West Aceh Regency regarding allegations of corruption in village funds that occurred in the 2016-2019 period.

"Our suspect M will be detained for the next 20 days at the Meulaboh Class II Correctional Institution," said Head of the Intelligence Section of the West Aceh District Attorney M Agung Kurniawan, in Meulaboh, as reported by Antara, Monday, February 21.

He said that suspect M was detained after being named a suspect in a corruption case related to village spending for the 2016-2019 budget year.

There is also a total indication of state financial losses according to the results of a special audit in the context of calculating state financial losses (PKKN), said M Agung Kurniawan, amounting to Rp438,709,263.

He also explained that the detention was carried out by investigators to facilitate the ongoing investigation process.

He also hopes that this case will serve as a lesson for village officials (gampong) to be careful and professional in managing village expenditure funds in West Aceh Regency.
