Manchester City Ready To Help Phil Foden And His Mother Who Became Victims Of Beatings By Unknown Persons

JAKARTA - Manchester City player Phil Foden has been beaten by an unknown person. The club is ready to provide full assistance and support for the 21-year-old player.

Not only Foden, Claire the mother was also a victim in the incident. They were attacked while watching the boxing match between Kell Brook and Amir Khan at the Manchester Arena on Sunday, February 20, WIB.

Manchester City said in a statement that they were shocked by the incident. The Citizens, who learned about the incident from the video, immediately took a firm stance.

"We are shocked and horrified at the harassment and subsequent attack on a member of Phil's (Foden) family. We will continue to provide Phil and his family with all the support and assistance they need."

A short video recording the incident has gone viral on social media. In the video, Foden can be seen walking down the hall to a room followed by a group of unidentified men.

The mother then came out of one of the doors of the room that Foden had previously entered and pushed a man who seemed urgent in. However, the person who was pushed retaliated with a single punch that flew towards Foden's mother's face.

Knowing the mother was being abused, Foden who was already in the room immediately rushed out to retaliate. The commotion was unavoidable before they finally parted in the hallway at the AO Arena, Manchester.

So far Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said it had not received any reports of this incident. However, they will still try to proactively investigate the matter.

Although it has not yet received a report, GMP admitted that they have seen the video circulating on social media. They have also identified the video and confirmed that the beating incident actually occurred in the AO Arena.

"We are conducting some further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident," police said in a statement.
