Pretending To Ask For Prayer, Santri Stabs Kiai In Banyuwangi Stabbed, Perpetrators Of Heartache Reprimanded When Entering The Santriwati Area

BANYUWANGI - New facts on the attack on Kiai in Pesanggaran, Banyuwangi have been revealed. The suspect with the initials Dr (34) from Ogan Komering Ilir admitted that he was hurt because he was reprimanded when he entered the santriwati area.

The stabbing was apparently premeditated. Pesanggaran Police investigators charged the man with Article 340 of the Criminal Code regarding premeditated murder.

The Head of Public Relations of the Banyuwangi Police, Iptu Lita Kurniawan, said the suspect was charged with 3 layers of articles.

"The articles that we apply are 351 paragraph 2, junto 340, junto 53 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code. The threat is a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of life," said Lita.

Prior to the incident, the police said the suspect had prepared the knife. He then knocked on the door of kiai Affandi Musyafa pretending to have a stomach ache. He asked for prayer water from the kiai.

"He then stabbed the victim and fled. The knife was then thrown away by the suspect," he concluded.

During interrogation, the suspect's statement changed. The suspect had argued that when he stabbed the victim while in a state of trance.

However, it was finally revealed that the suspect's motive was heartache. He was emotional because he had been reprimanded by the victim for frequently entering the female student area.

"He was once reprimanded by the victim, the suspect was not allowed to play in the female student environment," he added.
