Debris Transport Truck Hits Boundary Sidewalk, Jalan Kolonel Sugiono, East Jakarta Diverted
JAKARTA - Due to the brake failure, the truck carrying building debris lost control, crossing and covering the Jalan Kolonel Sugiono, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, Monday, February 21, afternoon. As a result, vehicular traffic to Malaka Sari and Pondok Kopi was diverted.
According to Fauzi, one of the eye witnesses, the incident occurred when the truck was about to leave the residents' residential area. At that time, the truck was about to deliver the building debris.
The truck driver released the handbrake as the vehicle exited onto the downhill road. But when you want to turn by stepping on the brake pedal, the brakes don't work. The truck sped up and hit the road divider.
"When the car is about to go backwards, the brakes are like a car park, the road is straight. The truck is carrying building material debris," Fauzi told reporters, Monday, February 21.
Luckily, as a result of the incident no other motorists passed. So there is no loss of life or injury.
As a result of this incident, the flow of vehicles to Malaka Sari, Pondok Kopi had stalled. The Satpol PP and Dishub officers had time to divert the flow to Jalan Swadaya Raya.
"Earlier, the streets were closed by Dishub and Satpol PP officers," he said.
Meanwhile, the evacuation process was successfully carried out by the driver and the truck driver after more than an hour after the accident.
