Idrus Marham Is Free After Serving 2 Years In Prison
JAKARTA - Former Social Minister Idrus Marham was released from prison purely on Friday, September 11, after serving a two-year sentence for being caught in a bribery case for the Riau-1 PLTU project.

It is known that Idrus was sentenced to two years in prison after the Supreme Court granted his appeal in December 2019.
Regarding the Rp. 50 million fine imposed by the panel of judges, Rika said that the Golkar Party politician had paid it in September 2020.
"The length of the sentence is two years, based on the decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia at the cassation level on December 2, 2019, Number 3681 K / PID. SUS / 2019. A fine of 50 million has been paid on September 3, 2020," said Rika.
Previously, the Jakarta Corruption Court (Tipikor) on April 23 2019 sentenced Idrus Marham to a 3-year prison sentence plus a fine of IDR 150 million subsidiary for being proven to have accepted bribes together with former member of Commission VII DPR RI from the Golkar Party faction Eni Maulani Saragih.
The bribe amounting to Rp2.25 billion was given by businessman Johanes Budisutrisno Kotjo in connection with the Riau-1 PLTU project.
Furthermore, the DKI Jakarta High Court strengthened Idrus Marham's sentence to 5 years in prison plus a fine of IDR 200 million, a subsidiary of 3 months in prison on July 9, 2019.
Idrus then submitted an appeal to the Supreme Court. The cassation was granted. The Supreme Court's appeal panel cut Idrus's sentence to 2 years in prison from 5 years in prison.
