Holds Case, KPK Finds Out Progress Of Djoko Tjandra Case Handling At Bareskrim
JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata said that the joint case with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police Headquarters aims to see the progress of investigating the handling of bribery committed by Djoko Tjandra against a number of officials in the police.
"We want to see the extent to which cases are handled at Bareskrim. Have we described the case in size or in its clusters," said Alex after holding a case title at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Friday, September 11.
In addition, he said, the title of this case was carried out so that a complete picture of the bribery case committed by Djoko Tjandra against a number of parties. "Because Djoko Tjandra has been named a suspect at Bareskrim and the Attorney General's Office. So we will see the relationship," he said.
"We want to see Djoko Tjandra bribe the prosecutor, what is the purpose of this police. That is the outline we want to describe because we do not want to see the case stand alone as if the bribery of the police is different from what he bribed officials at the prosecutor's office," he added.
Meanwhile, regarding the possibility of taking over the case after the title of the case, Alex said that the KPK has the right to do so if it is appropriate considering the applicable law. However, this case takeover can only be carried out if the handling of cases in the police and prosecutors is slow and protracted.
However, so far, Alex sees that the case handling process has not encountered any obstacles. Moreover, currently the file process is already in stage one and has been submitted to the prosecutor's office.
So far, the KPK will coordinate and supervise first before deciding on case taking.
"When the Corruption Eradication Commission sees that there are related parties that have not been disclosed by the Criminal Investigation Unit or the prosecutor's office, we will encourage them to deal with it first. They have temporarily raised them, we will encourage friends at Bareskrim and the prosecutor's office if there is enough evidence. We are still based on evidence, "he said.
It is known, after carrying out a case title with the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit, the KPK will conduct a case title with the Attorney General's Office. This activity will be carried out at 14.00 WIB.
Previously, the KPK had also participated in a case title at the Attorney General's Office regarding the case of Attorney Pinangki Sirna Malasari, who allegedly accepted a bribe from Djoko Tjandra.
In the expose that was held on Tuesday, September 8, there were a number of things that were discussed. Among them are the alleged meeting between Prosecutor Pinangki and his superior.
Attorney Pinangki was named a suspect for allegedly accepting bribes related to the fatwa so that Djoko Tjandra would not be executed in the cessie case or the right to collect Bank Bali.
The Attorney General's Office suspects that Pinangki received a bribe worth 500 thousand US dollars, equivalent to Rp7 billion from Djoko. In addition, in this case the Attorney General's Office has named Andi Irfan Jaya, a former NasDem politician, a suspect.
