Borobudur Temple Area Becomes Vaccination Location, National Police Chief: Acceleration In Tourist Attractions With High Interaction
JAKARTA - Acceleration of vaccination acceleration continues to prepare people for the COVID-19 surge. One of them was carried out in the Borobudur Temple area, Magelang, Central Java.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that the Borobudur Temple was chosen as a place for mass vaccination reviews in Central Java because of the location of tourist destinations and high interaction.
"So we must encourage the acceleration of vaccination to be carried out properly," said Sigit in his statement, Friday, February 18.
In Central Java, there are actually dozens of vaccination points or locations. Where, the target is at least 35,000 people are vaccinated.
"In Central Java, it was carried out in 71 points with a minimum target of 35 thousand and we hope to reach 38 thousand with our priority using the AstraZeneca vaccine," said Sigit.
The acceleration of vaccination is carried out to deal with the increasingly crazy spread of COVID-19, the Omicron variant.
For the Central Java region, the spread of Omicron last week was around 2 thousand daily cases and on February 17 it was 4 thousand daily cases.
"So this is of course a concern for all of us, in accordance with the direction of the President, we must accelerate vaccination and of course enforce and discipline health protocols," said Sigit.
The National Police Chief said that it was important to accelerate vaccination, especially for children and the elderly. Because the highest mortality rate occurs in the elderly.
"On this occasion, please help to disseminate information to the public who have taken the first dose but not yet the second dose immediately to the existing outlets. And for those who have taken the second dose and it has been six months please carry out a booster vaccination so that we all have confidence to be ready to face Omicron, " said Sigit.
