Twitter Users Can Now Pin Priority Chats In DMs

JAKARTA - Twitter has just introduced an update that makes it easier for users to interact via direct message (DM) with the people they want.

The update includes pinning up to six DMs or conversations, so users no longer need to scroll down or search for DMs to send a new message, as the conversation they wanted when pinned will stay at the top.

Pins can be a useful way to make some conversations accessible, although some people may be disappointed to learn that they can only keep the six at the top of the list.

To use it on mobile, users just need to swipe their favorite conversation to the right and tap the pin button to float it to the top of the DM.

Previously, this Pin was only available to Twitter Blue subscribers, but now it's available to everyone on Android, iOS, and the web.

This expansion comes just a few months after DM conversation pins came to Blue users in November 2021. Not too surprising though.

Twitter said it would use Blue to offer early access to the feature, and the DM pin was one of the first.

The microblogging site is indeed enough to pay attention to the DM feature. In 2019, the company is also experimenting with more advanced DM search capacities that allow users to perform keyword searches for conversations in DMs.

Although not a primary function, DMs are an important connecting element on Twitter, especially for brands looking to offer collaborations via tweets, which can often include sensitive information, such as detailed personal information.

Indeed, according to Twitter's own research, as much as 73 percent of Twitter users are likely to tweet on a brand to get a response, 52 percent more likely to DM a brand's account when it comes to more personal info.
