Occupied For A Dozen Years, The Kupang City Government Finally Renovates An Uninhabitable House Belonging To Scavengers
KUPANG - The Kupang City Government has renovated the house of a scavenger who has lived in an uninhabitable house for a dozen years. This house renovation is the government's commitment to people in need.
"The government is always here to help residents who need assistance in an effort to improve people's lives," said the Mayor of Kupang, Jefri Riwu Kore in Kupang, Antara, Friday, February 18.
Jefri Riwu Kore said the Kupang City Government would continue to strive so that before ending the term of office in August 2022, all development programs for livable houses could be completed properly.
"Under no circumstances will we try our best to complete all priority programs before August 2022," said Jefri Riwu Kore.
He realized that there were still many residents who needed assistance with decent housing in the capital city of NTT Province. For this reason, the community is urged to be patient, due to the limited budget of the City Government so that assistance is carried out in stages by looking at the priority scale.
He said that by 2022 the Kupang City Government is targeting to build 359 housing units through a housing renovation program for the poor.
The construction of 359 housing units cost IDR 17 billion from two budget sources, namely the Kupang City Government through the housing renovation program, building 110 units and 249 units being built with budget support from the central government.
